A degree in economics is made up of macroeconomics, accounting, mathematics, fundamentals of administration, international trade and industrial organisation. They are responsible for the assessment and evaluation of economic issues in general, based on market and trend analysis.

Pathways of study

To enter either of these two degree programmes, you need to meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Holding a baccalaureate degree and having passed the university entrance exam.
  • Holding a higher technical qualification in vocational training, plastic arts or sports.
  • Pass the university entrance exam for students over 25 years of age.
  • Fulfil the university entrance requirements for those over 40 years of age.
  • Pass the university entrance exam for those over 45 years of age.
  • Have a university degree or an equivalent degree.

It is important to mention that each access route has a certain percentage of places reserved. And that, in the case of private universities, they can establish their own admission criteria.

In Business Administration and Management, as in Economics, very versatile professional profiles are formed, which open up many job opportunities. These range from audits to the creation of companies, through the design of strategies, definition of policies and digitalisation.

For business administration, the outlets tend to be qualified jobs in companies, in the area of marketing, accounting, management or management. With regard to economics, in companies, their work is oriented towards the analysis of the economic context and a global vision of it. And they can also work in public or private entities such as banks and international organisations.
