Colegio Mayor Universitario Isabel de España

The Colegio Mayor Universitario Isabel de España began its journey more than fifty years ago, specifically in 1956, when it was recognized as such by the Ministry of Education. During the 2005-2006 academic year, the College celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of this long and fruitful journey, which allowed us to reflect on these five decades of the life of the College and our society, but it was also a stimulus for, based on our history and of the principles of our educational project, also think about the future of the Isabel of Spain.

The principles of the educational project of this College are not the result of improvisation, but of many years of work, reflection, but above all enormous doses of energy and enthusiasm. A project to train young university students in the art of commitment, common sense and coexistence, in the inseparable exercise of freedom, responsibility and solidarity, and in the appreciation of culture and the arts that enhance our lives.

Through the different activities that the College offers its students, we try to arouse their interest in everything that puts them in contact with public, cultural and artistic life, making it possible that, in a University as crowded as that of our time, the Colegio Mayor is a privileged meeting place between university students, intellectuals and representatives of cultural life. Commitment to these activities is essential, since the renewal of a place depends on both academic achievement and adequate involvement in college life and its different activities.
