Since 1989, the ESDI School of Design, center of the Ramon Llull University (URL), has been committed to people who dare to shape the world again and shape their future. Its mission is based on the desire to impart knowledge about art and design through a creative process determined by analysis, effort and talent.
In 1992 ESDi was the first center in Spain to teach university design. by obtaining his own degree from the Ramon Llull University: "Higher Degree in Design". Taking this into account, in the year 2000 the academic merger was signed with the School of Fashion Arts and Techniques (EATM) of Barcelona, promoting both the textile and fashion specialty and the rest of the studies taught.
Since 2008/09, ESDi has taught the degree in design as a center attached to the Ramon Llull University, according to the standards established in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This is a very important fact that, after graduation, allows the designer to access higher studies: master's degrees and postgraduate degrees, as well as the national and international labor market on the same terms as other official titles.
In this way, ESDi is the pioneer university in offering official design studies in all its modalities: graphics, product, interior design, fashion, audiovisual and design management (multidisciplinary integration). Likewise, the center was a pioneer in teaching third-cycle design studies, especially in teaching an official university master's degree that opens the doors to access to a doctorate in design.
ESDI structures its teaching activities in various teaching and knowledge development units (UDDC) and experimentation and application units (UEA). Since 2012, the center has a research group recognized by the Ramon LLull University (URL): TADD, Theory, Analysis and Development of Design.
If you are looking for a university residence as a student at ESDi, we recommend Sabadell or Barcelona, being close to the railway stations or Rodalies.
